Game Crashes on Startup or Loading Screen
Reason: Compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows or due to corrupted file settings (gta_sa.set)
Solutions:
- Open the Documents folder on your computer and look for GTA San Andreas User Files.
- Inside that folder, find and delete the file named gta_sa.set. This will restore all game settings to their default state.
- Next, right-click on the gta_sa.exe file and select properties.
- Now select the Compatibility tab and set it to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) mode.
- Make sure that both options are checked: “Disable fullscreen optimizations” and “Run this program as administrator”.
Grand Theft Auto SA requires at least DirectX version 9.0″ Error
Reason: A part of DirectX known as DirectPlay might be disabled or missing.
Solutions:
- Press Windows Key + R and in the textbox type OptionalFeatures.exe. Click OK.
